Her principal area of practice is Intellectual Property litigation.  Kathy has experience litigating patent and copyright disputes, as well as trademark matters before the federal courts and in opposition proceedings before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.  Kathy received her Doctor of Jurisprudence, <em>magna cum laude<\/em>, from Marquette University School of Law where she was Lead Articles Editor for the Marquette Law Review and a member of Law Review, was the Thomas More Scholar and Holznecht Scholar, received the University\u2019s Book Award in Contracts, Constitutional Law, Constitutional and Criminal Procedure, and Constitutional Law Seminar, and was elected to Alpha Sigma Nu National Honor Society.  Kathy received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the College of the Holy Cross, and is a candidate for a Masters of Nonprofit Administration from the University of Notre Dame.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Kathy was named one of <em>Florida\u2019s 2015 SuperLawyers\u00ae<\/em>,<em> <\/em>is Co-Chair of the Intellectual Property Section for the Hillsborough County Bar Association, and served as the Intellectual Property Section\u2019s CLE Chair in 2012-13, and 2014-15.She is a member of the Florida Bar, the State Bar of Wisconsin, the Hillsborough County Bar Association, and the Federal Bar Association.  Kathy has authored articles for the Hillsborough County Bar Association\u2019s <em>Lawyer<\/em> magazine, as well as for <em>The Antitrust Litigator<\/em>, and for <em>Secured Signals<\/em>, an industry publication for the telecommunications field and has given presentations on Patent and Trademark law.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Kathy is admitted to practice in Florida, Connecticut, and Wisconsin.  She is also admitted to practice before the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, the U.S. Court of<\/p>\n<p>  Appeals for the Federal Circuit, U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, U.S. Court of Federal Claims, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana, and U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Kathy also has extensive experience litigating a wide variety of commercial matters including antitrust, breach of contract, fraud, non-compete agreements, and unfair competition.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Before moving to Tampa, Florida and joining Fee &amp; Jeffries, Kathy practiced in Baltimore, Maryland and Hartford, Connecticut.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Outside of Fee &amp; Jeffries, Kathy serves on the Board of Directors for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Tampa Bay, and Chairs its Board Governance committee.  She is also President-elect of the Board of Directors for The Tampa Club and a volunteer attorney for St. Michael\u2019s Legal Center for Women and Children.  Kathy is also active in her parish and serves as a Lector.  Kathy was a Guardian <em>ad litem<\/em> for Hillsborough County.  She completed the St. Anthony\u2019s Triathlon as part of the Leukemia &amp; Lymphoma Society\u2019s Team in Training, and the 2011 ING New York City Marathon on Team UNICEF.
